Fade

--

I quickly dropped into my visit with you,

a pattern, a ceremony of innocence and relationship.

The years have left me,

faded.

The fade I felt in your change of subject

How I dimmed as your the object.

The change dissolved me,

unheard, but and boxed in with you.

All my missteps haunt me

and my words fossilized in mouth

and my meaning sank.

But I said what I said.

And even if you unheard it-

It is.

We parted under a slate grey sky,

with our ceremony

in

complete.
